How is my calorie goal calculated?
We estimate your BMR with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, multiply by a NEAT activity factor (1.2–1.6) for your maintenance calories (TDEE), then adjust by about 7700 kcal per kg of target change spread over the week. It's the exact formula the TigerMode app and WhatsApp coach use.
What is TDEE?
Total Daily Energy Expenditure — the calories you burn in a day at your activity level. Eat at TDEE to maintain weight, below it to lose, above it to gain.
Is this accurate for Indian body types?
The formula is population-general and a strong starting estimate. Real results depend on food logging accuracy and adherence — which is exactly what the coach helps with. Adjust after 2–3 weeks based on real weight trend.
